Sensei John
Shihan John M. Agostini
Certified Senior Instructor
5th Degree Black Belt

Shihan John began training in the Martial Arts with Shihan Larry Sullivan in May 1992 and received his 1st Degree Black Belt in March of 1996.  During the course of his training, he competed in tournaments and won trophies in Self Defense, Weapons Forms and Empty Handed Forms.

Through continued training and advancement, he became a Certified Senior Instructor in Sullivan’s American Kenpo in June of 2004, and received his 5th Degree Black Belt on July 11th, 2009. Shihan Larry Sullivan, in May of 2006, selected Shihan John as the Head Instructor for a new school, which became USA Karate, Rehoboth.

Shihan John is a graduate of Iona College, in New Rochelle, New York, with a Degree in History. Upon Graduation, he attended Officer Candidate School at Newport RI and was Commissioned an Ensign in Feb. of 1972. Shihan John served 9 ½ years active duty during which time he deployed to the Pacific twice including a tour to Vietnam., and two North Atlantic Deployments that included Special Operation in the Artic. Shihan John served an additional 14 ½ years in the Naval Reserve, retiring from the Naval War College Reserve Staff with the rank of Commander.

Shihan John is married with two children both of whom have trained with him. His son earned his 2nd Degree Black Belt before retiring.






Sensei Dave
Sensei Dave Audette
3rd Degree Black Belt

Sensei Dave began training with Hanshi Larry Sullivan when he was 6 years old. Dave was awarded his Black Belt by Hanshi Larry in 2000 and is now a 3rd Degree Black Belt. He has successfully competed nationally in Forms, Weapons, Self-Defense and Sparring.

In April 2008 Sensai Dave joined the Rehoboth school and began training with Shihan John.

Sensei Dave graduated from St. Raphael Academy and is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration at CCRI.

Sensei Jack
Sensei Jack Szydlowski
1st Degree Black Belt

Sensei Jack was born in China where he lived until the age of 14 when he moved to Rehoboth, MA. He graduated from Dighton-Rehoboth High School in 2009. Jack is currently enrolled in the pre-radiology program at Bristol Community College and will begin training as an x-ray technician in Washington, D.C. later this year.

In his free time Jack is teaching a Mandarin Chinese language course to children at Palmer River School.

Sensei Mike
Sensei Mike McCarthy
1st Degree Black Belt

Sensei Mike is an Honor Roll student at Dighton-Rehoboth High School, class of 2012. Mike plans on a military career in the Navy, hoping to one day become a Navy Seal.
